The Noise Abatement office has implemented a new notification procedure regarding community noise complaints. When a complaint is received, airport staff investigates each complaint. The vast majority of aircraft operations do not involve violations of Federal Aviation Regulations nor the County’s Noise Ordinance. However, if staff is able to identify the aircraft involved in the complaint, a letter will be sent to the registered owner of the aircraft. This letter is just an information letter that lets the owner of the aircraft know that a member of the community was disturbed by an operation involving their aircraft.
